During the pandemic, With masks concealing our faces, we had to find new ways to connect and identify each other. where curiosity and uncertainty about human nature abound. Only when the mask is removed can we reestablish our understanding of their original appearance. Through this artwork, I aimed to explore emotions hidden behind masks and showcase the subtle changes when people looked at each other during this exceptional time.

During the pandemic, I used ceramic paste on masks to create this artwork, focusing on the significance of facial features in recognizing others. Due to the mask's concealment, we were compelled to establish new modes of communication and identification. Within the obscured facial features lies a realm of speculation, where curiosity and uncertainty about human nature abound. Only when the mask is removed can we reestablish our understanding of their original appearance. This process of seeking reconnection and reaffirming each other's identities during the pandemic reflects a more authentic and profound form of communication and connection between individuals. Through this artwork, I hope to explore the various emotions and perceptions concealed behind the masks and reveal the subtle changes and resonance that occur when people look at each other in this unique period.
