Concept of artwork 設計理念:
Rescuing materials discarded by others and making them perform in whatever format they have become. Old casting slip thickens and doesn't drain as well from the mould, I have kept this fluidity and language at the top of the vessels rather than cut and clean up. I also inherited various lustres from someone retiring from the ceramic industry and have used them on the surfaces to highlight the new qualities of the aged slip.

Using a plaster mould I already had made and slip casting with materials otherwise on their way to the dustbin, no longer being 'fresh', I have continued its’ life and worked with the thickening liquid and retained the now characteristics from not being able to empty from the mould without leaving big, globular waves of clay. After glazing, I have highlighted these areas with gold and black lustre, liberally using them as they are drying out and becoming less useable in a sense of control and refined finish. I enjoy the way the firing has left the surface looking like a cracked mirror, maybe it was the age of the lustre. These things are often almost impossible to recreate even if you try!
