Concept of artwork 設計理念:
違章建築，在現代社會中是錯誤且不符合規定的，但換個角度想，規章的產生是由人們所定義出來，那它的對與錯又真理嗎？然而回到自身，人們從出生那一刻開始在各種規範中長大，價值觀與行為都慢慢地不斷被限制。在這樣的狀態下開始思考人的意識到底在何處，是那各種規範下的意識嗎？還是瓦解後才能真正的找到自己？ 作品解構一個空間並重新建構，立體空間象徵固有的規章，黑色支條代表著意識，透過支條去支撐整個主體的重量與空間，表示著意識與固有規章的關係扭轉，自我意識已經重新建立，超越固有的形態。 Violating Consciousness Illegal construction is considered wrong and does not conform to the regulations of modern society. But thinking from another perspective, each regulation is defined and generated by people. Is there a true right and wrong then? Looking back at the self, people grew up in various norms and regulations set from the moment of birth, and their values and behaviours were slowly and constantly restricted. In such state, one starts to think about where our consciousness lies, if it is under those various societal norms, or can we only truly find ourselves after the disintegration? The work deconstructs a space and reconstructs it, with the black structures representing the consciousness. The structures supports the weight and space of the main body, and expresses the reversing relationship between consciousness and inherent regulations, with the self-consciousness that has been re-established beyond the inherent form.
在媒材使用上之所以會堅持全使用陶土製成，是因為陶土的媒材特性在大家的常理中是柔軟且脆弱的，在製作過程中不可能像展出時一樣站立著製作，因此我必須將作品躺著或是做一個模型去支撐，才有辦法將黑色支條一根根接上去並燒結。透過這樣吃力不討好的製作方式，讓作品用燒成後陶土堅硬的特性去站立，表現著我遵循規則的同時也在破壞這固有的規則。 The choice of using only clay as a medium for the entire work is derived from a misconception of clay being soft and fragile, where it is impossible to have made it stand like how it is exhibited during the production process. By laying the work down or using molds to support the form, I am then able to attach each black stem piece by piece and sinter together. Through such a tedious and arduous technique, the work is then able to stand on its own, showing the characteristic of hard ceramics after firing. This whole process represents the dichotomy between following and breaking the procedures of ceramics.
