Concept of artwork 設計理念:

在社會中我們一直扮演著不同時期的角色,從進入學生階段到現在,一直過著遵循社會流程的生活,卻逐漸的意識到自我在社會中的空虛,所身處的位置是自己所追求的嗎? 亦或只是流程下所形成的。 對於意識的空虛,我透過解構思想並重新拆解,將一個已構的立體空間,以解構的方式切割後重新排列,並透過黑色支條重新建構出一個新的負空間,原本的立體空間象徵固有的規章,而黑色支條則代表著意識,它正突破原本的框架與空間不斷向外擴張。藉由作品重新思考關於社會中自我意識的問題。 In the midst of society, we are always playing roles of different times. Since entering the stage of being students, we have been living a life that follows social procedures, but we gradually realise an emptiness that is formed by being in the society. Is our current position what we are pursuing, or is it just formed under the social procedures? In regards to the consciousness of emptiness, I have dissected and reassembled my thoughts, constructing them into a three-dimensional space; one that has been cut and rearranged, forming a new negative space within the black structures. What was once a three-dimensional space symbolising inherent regulations has now been transformed with the consciousness, with each structure breaking through the initial framework and continuing to expand outwards. This work reminds us to rethink the issues of self-consciousness and self-awareness in the society.

在媒材使用上之所以會堅持全使用陶土製成,是因為陶土的媒材特性在大家的常理中是柔軟且脆弱的,在製作過程中不可能像展出時一樣站立著製作,因此我必須將作品躺著或是做一個模型去支撐,才有辦法將黑色支條一根根接上去並燒結。透過這樣吃力不討好的製作方式,讓作品用燒成後陶土堅硬的特性去站立,表現著我遵循規則的同時也在破壞這固有的規則。 The choice of using only clay as a medium for the entire work is derived from a misconception of clay being soft and fragile, where it is impossible to have made it stand like how it is exhibited during the production process. By laying the work down or using molds to support the form, I am then able to attach each black stem piece by piece and sinter together. Through such a tedious and arduous technique, the work is then able to stand on its own, showing the characteristic of hard ceramics after firing. This whole process represents the dichotomy between following and breaking the procedures of ceramics.
