Concept of artwork 設計理念:
“All streams flow into the sea, yet the sea is never full. To the place the streams come from, there they return again.” An interactive installation of ceramics, water and a glass tank, “to the place where streams come from, there they return again”explores the natural flowing movements, acoustics and space created by slip casted vessels on water. Each bowl-like vessel holds subtle contours and color gradients, made by a repetitive and time-consuming technique. When placed on the water surface, the delicate vessels float and knock into each other with crisp sounds and resonating acoustics. Other than sound, the vessels also cast shadows onto the bottom of the glass tank, creating another landscape within the work itself. Over time, this multi-sensory artwork creates a space for the audience to be at peace, experiencing and contemplating the different levels within.
Dimensions given is of the glass tank, individual ceramic vessels are of a varied diameter 5cm by height 3cm, 3cm by 2cm and 1.5cm by 1.5cm. Weight provided is the rough estimate and average of each piece.
